Kat Ilich has a Bachelor of Arts with Distinction in sociology, communications and film from Central Queensland University, and has worked in a number of media and communications roles for large-scale construction and performing arts companies.During her tertiary education, she studied professional and creative writing, as well as script writing for stage and screen, and previously worked as an actor and model in Brisbane.

The Cat with No Tail is inspired by a family legacy, and Kat hopes it will not only delight her young readers, but also promote confidence and strength in each individual who reads it.

Lexie Watt has worked as a nurse and as an artist, and has previously illustrated two books, Sophie’s Prize and her own original picture book entitled Chookies!. An accomplished artist, The Cat with No Tail is Lexie’s third illustrated children’s book, and her artistry of animals and softly vivid colours comes together to beautifully complement the fable’s story.
